The Policy Center on the First Year of College has been conducting research on what makes for excellence in programs for students the first year of college.  They conducted national research, called for nominations, and selected thirteen finalists, listed below.  Follow the link above to the home page of the Policy Center which has narrative descriptions of the first year programs at those schools.  Or follow the links below to visit the web sites of the thirteen finalists, which were chosen selected by size category.
